History of Metal Gear: The Catalyst (Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater)

Added: 22.01.2018 5:00 | 0 views | 0 comments

After Metal Gear Solid 2 pulled the famous and rather controversial bait and switch on the series' fanbase, expectations on what direction Hideo Kojima would decide to take the franchise in next were all over the place. He had clearly shown that he wasn't afraid of going against fan wishes when he essentially made Solid Snake a supporting character in Metal Gear Solid 2, and as a result fans where somewhat trepidatious about what he would do next. Kojima was set on once again on trying to do something he had not done in the previous two Metal Gear Solid games, and with that goal in mind began to plan a game that would both look and feel drastically different from everything people had grown used to with the series. Of course, the visuals and the feel of the game weren't going to be the only changes; fans were once again going to be playing with a new protagonist.

By stretching the limits of how we accept such everyday objects to function, Metal Gear Solid imbues The Cardboard Box with a mundane absurdism to match the magical realism that infiltrates the rest of its universe.

New Trailer Sets Its Zombie Destroying Co-op Action To The Tune Of Ballroom Blitz

Added: 19.01.2018 18:06 | 1 views | 0 comments

The latest trailer for Metal Gear Survive shows off lots of zombie destroying action with the song Ballroom Blitz joyfully orchestrating the violence.
It's... weird. But also maybe the right call? This trailer definitely does not make it feel like a Metal Gear, and maybe that's the sort of marketing this game needs. Survive uses Metal Gear Solid V's gameplay, but it's not a Metal Gear game.

We recently got a chance to play a bunch of the single-player, which you can see . Overall, we're optimistic about Metal Gear Survive, but absolutely recognize that it won't be the same without Hideo Kojima's involvement. Metal Gear Survive is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 20.

Dont ignore Metal Gear Survive | Polygon

Its understandable why some Metal Gear fans are writing off Metal Gear Survive. The game reuses a lot of assets from Kojima Productions Metal Gear Solid 5 games and is being developed without the input of series creator Hideo Kojima. But Metal Gear Survive is an intriguing, entertaining survival-focused spinoff of the franchise that builds on The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes strengths; specifically that its still weird and plays very well, based on a few hours with the games single-player campaign.
